Daniel Sturridge admits that he is looking forward to lining up with Mario Balotelli again when the Liverpool striker makes his return from injury.

The England international has not featured since picking up a thigh injury while on international duty at the start of September and then suffering a calf strain.

Once I get back fit I’m hopeful we can strike up a partnership

Sturridge played alongside Balotelli as the Reds sealed an impressive 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur back in August.

And the 25-year-old is hoping to be able to line up with the Italy international soon.

“We get along well off the field and in the changing room. We’re always laughing and joking,” Sturridge told talkSPORT.

“Once I get back fit I’m hopeful we can strike up a partnership – not just with him but with the other new players that are also at the club.

“I’m just going to go out there and work as hard as I possibly can to win games.”
