Liverpool transfers: Lucas Leiva opens door to Anfield exit
Lucas Leiva admits that he may seek a Liverpool exit
Lucas Leiva has admitted that he is “looking” at the possibility of leaving Liverpool due to his lack of playing time this season.
The Brazilian midfielder has been limited to just two Premier League starts for the Reds so far this term.
Lucas was linked with a transfer to Napoli over the summer but a move to Serie A failed to materialise.
And the 27-year-old says that he remains open to a move away from the Merseyside club.
“I’m not speaking to anyone at the moment because I’m under contract, but I am looking around, given I am not playing,” the London Evening Standard quotes Lucas as saying.
“There was contact with Napoli last summer, but the parties didn’t reach a satisfactory agreement. It’s true that Rafael Benitez has always held me in high esteem.”
