Daley Blind insists he is not overawed despite playing alongside big-name stars like Angel di Maria at Manchester United.

The Netherlands international completed a £16m switch to Old Trafford from Ajax on transfer deadline day this summer, penning a four-year deal with the Red Devils.

Blind was one of six arrivals in the recent transfer window, although the Dutch star lacked the glamour of £59.7m signing Di Maria or Colombia international Radamel Falcao.

However, the 24-year-old, who voted Dutch football of the year last spring, isn’t lacking any confidence in Louis van Gaal’s dressing room despite his star-studded team-mates.

“I’m not a player United [paid a fortune for] like Di Maria,” Blind told the Independent. “But that doesn’t make me a shy boy in the dressing room and on the training pitch.

“Thanks to Amsterdamse bluf, we Ajax players have a natural self-confidence.”

Blind has played in four Premier League games since his summer switch to United from the Eredivisie champions.
