Mauricio Pochettino plans to continue to rotate Tottenham strikers
Tottenham Hotspur manager says Roberto Soldado, Harry Kane and Emmanuel Adebayor are in competition
Mauricio Pochettino is planning to continue his policy of rotating Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor, Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado.
The England Under-21 international scored his fourth goal in three games as Kane helped Spurs seal a 2-0 victory over Brighton in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
Soldado, Kane and Adebayor are all different players and we are in more than one competition
Emmanuel Adebayor, meanwhile, broke the deadlock at White Hart Lane on Sunday, before Newcastle United scored twice in the second half to secure a 2-1 upset.
And Tottenham manager Pochettino, who replaced Tim Sherwood as manager at the north London side in May, says the trio are in competition for a starting spot in each game.
“The Premier League, Europa League and Capital One Cup are all different competitions but afterwards we always analyse each player for the next game,” Pochettino said.
“I could think only that I need to pick Harry for the next game but he shares the minutes with the other strikers, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, and all the players have the opportunity to play.
“We always put the strongest side out that we can. We have a strong squad. Soldado, Kane and Adebayor are all different players and we are in more than one competition.”
