Mourinho gives latest Chelsea injury update after Shrewsbury win
Chelsea boss hopes to have Diego Costa and Ramires back available this weekend
Jose Mourinho says that Diego Costa and Ramires should be fit for Chelsea’s clash with Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
The pair both missed Tuesday night’s 2-1 League Cup win over Shrewsbury Town due to injury.
Costa has been struggling with a hamstring injury and has also been suffering from a virus, while Ramires has been sidelined with a muscular problem.
And speaking after Chelsea’s cup win on Tuesday night, the Chelsea boss confirmed that the duo should be set to return to action against the Hoops at Stamford Bridge, so long as they suffer no further setbacks.
Chelsea’s victory at Shrewsbury extended the Blues unbeaten start to the season, but Mourinho admitted that his side were made to work hard for the win.
He said: “I wasn’t expecting anything but a difficult match. The game was going to be difficult. It was difficult from minute one to the last minute.”
