MP mistakenly claims Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli turned up at Parliament
Tory MP confuses Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli for 55-year-old dancer
A Tory MP had a nightmare on Twitter on Thursday after claiming Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli had turned up at the House of Commons to watch a debate.
Guy Opperman claimed that the 24-year-old Liverpool star was in attendance in the Commons’s public gallery, wearing a “sharp suit, pink shirt and a poppy”.

However, as die-hard Liverpool fans will know, the Italy international was being put through his paces by Brendan Rodgers during training at the club’s Melwood facility this afternoon.
And the Hexham MP will be embarrassed to learn that it was in fact a 55-year-old dancer, sporting the same bleached Mohawk as the Liverpool star.
The Balotelli lookalike, called Ken Hinds, is quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo: “A number of MPs asking me if I was Balloteli.
“I had to disappoint them and say no – but he is a great man and I am only privileged to associated with man like that.
“I was in the debate because I am the chairman of Haringey stop and search monitoring group, we definitely know that drug play a big part in stop and search.”
