Arsenal and Liverpool have not been in contact over a potential move for Gonzalo Higuain, according to the striker’s agent.

The Argentina international has been regularly linked with the Gunners over the 24 months, despite the striker joining Napoli last summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been struggling for goals since the departure of Luis Suarez as Mario Balotelli continues to struggle in front of goal.

Higuain scored a hat-trick as Rafael Benitez’s Napoli side were 6-2 winners against Verona in Serie A on Sunday night.

But the striker’s agent rubbished reports of potential interest from the Premier League, adding that he hasn’t hear from Arsenal since Higuain joined Napoli.

“The rumors about Arsenal & Liverpool? No representative from either club has contacted me. Only before his arrival at Napoli did I have contacts with Arsenal,” Higuain’s agent told CRC Radio.

Higuain has scored 20 goals in 40 Serie A appearances since moving to Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013.
