Ozil, Debuchy and more: Twitter reacts as Arsenal stun Anderlecht
Mesut Özil and Mathieu Debuchy are among the Tweeters after Arsenal mount a late comeback to beat Anderlecht 2-1
Lukas Podolski and Kieran Gibbs both scored in the final two minutes as Arsenal came from behind to secure a vital 2-1 Champions League win against Anderlecht.
After a goalless first half, the Belgian side took the lead in the 71st minute when Honduras winger Andy Najar headed in Dennis Praet’s cross.
Anderlecht missed a number of chances to double their advantage, before Gibbs volleyed home Calum Chambers’ brilliant cross to level in the 89th minute.
Substitute Podolski then completed the comeback when he fired home from close range a minute later to keep Arsenal second in their group.
The win, which came on Arsene Wenger’s 65th birthday, inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite updates.
