Arsenal captain will be sporting a new pair of boots against Burnley on Saturday
Mikel Arteta is looking forward to giving his new football boots a run out when Arsenal face Burnley on Saturday.
The Gunners made a return to winning ways at the Stadium of Light last weekend as Alexis Sanchez scored either side of half-time to seal a 2-0 victory over Sunderland.
Arteta, who was making his return from a recent spell on the sidelines, impressed alongside no-nonsense France international Mathieu Flamini against the Black Cats.
And Arsenal supporters will hope Arteta’s new Puma Evo Speed boots will give the 32-year-old a quicker turn of pace for the clash against Sean Dyche’s side at The Emirates
“Check out my new @pumafootball #evospeed boots, can’t wait to give them a run out this weekend,” Arteta posted on Twitter.
The Gunners midfielder, who succeeded Thomas Vermaelen as the club’s captain at the start of the season, reserved special praise for Sanchez after last weekend’s win.
“I felt really comfortable with [Flamini],” he told Arsenal Player. “Last year we played some important games together and I think we understand each other well.
“We wanted to give a bit more freedom to Alexis, playing a bit behind Danny [Welbeck], more like a 4-4-2, which we haven’t played for a while. It worked – I think Alexis did very well today so we’re happy for him.
“His confidence is high. Physically he’s better, you can see that by the runs he was making in the 93rd minute, [when he] chased the keeper and kept going. That’s all about him – he wants to keep going, he wants to improve and he’s doing very well.”
