Alexis Sanchez has finally ended his Twitter drought and posted on the social media site for the first time.

The Arsenal forward has proven a big hit with the Gunners supporters following his £35m move from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

In fact, Sanchez has been carrying Arsene Wenger’s side in recent weeks, scoring three of their last four goals as well as creating Danny Welbeck’s strike against Hull City.

And the Chile international has decided to indulge in a little social media on Thursday morning as the 25-year-old sent out his first tweet into Twittersphere.

“Mi primer tweet ! / My first tweet !!!” Sanchez wrote.

While Sanchez is Arsenal’s top goal-scorer with seven goals in all competitions, the 25-year-old has work to do to catch up with some of the Gunners’s most popular Twitter users.

At the time of writing, Sanchez boasted 381,000 followers, which is significantly less than Lukas Podolski, who has 2.24 million fans on the social media site.

But even regular user Poldolski is outshone by his compatriot and the club’s record signing Mesut Ozil, who has a following of 8.23 million.
