Mesut Ozil has taken to Instagram to update Arsenal supporters on his recovery from a knee injury.

The Gunners playmaker hasn’t featured for the north London side since suffering a knee ligament injury during a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea earlier this month.

The Germany international, who moved to the Emirates last year, was ruled out of first-team action for 10 to 12 weeks of the season due to the injury setback.

And Arsenal’s club-record signing took to his Instagram page to update the 25-year-old’s loyal followers on his progress.

Ozil appears to have been using his free time to bond with his pet pug, posting a photo of Balboa on Instagram earlier on Thursday.

Ozil wrote on Instagram: “Yeah #bulls#teamröse#balboa#mylove#pug”

On Wednesday, Ozil, who was part of Joachim Low’s World Cup-winning squad, hinted that he make a return from the knee injury earlier than expected.

“Best team! Thanks for your great support to enable my quick recovery,” Ozil posted on Facebook.
