The days of Premier League players turning up to training on a bike are long gone, but Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny fell in love with a rusty three-wheeled van during his trip to Rome.

Manchester United legend Neville famously travelled to the Red Devils’s old training ground, The Cliff, on his bike as the former England international stayed grounded despite Premier League fame.

Nowadays, most of the top-flight’s stars have glamorous sports cars or 4x4s which you can see grace Premier League training grounds up and down the country.

However, Szczesny appears to share the same taste in automobiles as Del Boy after spotting a rusty old van that just needed a lick of yellow paint to be transformed into the Trotters Independent motor during his recent trip to Italy’s capital.

“Shall I turn up to training in this…? ;)” Szczesny posted on Instagram.

On Sunday, Szczesny revealed he had flown to Rome to enjoy some down time after the goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as Arsenal were 2-0 winners at Sunderland.

Szczesny wrote: “Rome with @marina_official”

Mirroring her beau’s status, Łuczenko said: “Spontaneous #Rome with my babe!
