David De Gea promised Manchester United “will never give up” after the Red Devils left it late to rescue a 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.

Netherlands international Robin van Persie scored a stoppage-time strike from close range to seal a point for the 20-time English champions.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba had given the west London side a second-half lead with a powerful header past United shot stopper De Gea.

And the Spain international took to his Instagram page to reflect on an important result for Louis van Gaal’s side.

De Gea wrote on Instagram: “Thanks Old Trafford for always being there til the end. This team never gives up! @manchesterunited”

Earlier on Monday, Rafael da Silva hailed Van Persie’s “great goal” to secure a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
