Erik Lamela has expressed his delight that Tottenham Hotspur have advanced to the League Cup quarter-finals after a 2-0 victory over Brighton.

The Argentina international scored his second goal of the week in the 54th minute to leave Tottenham with one foot in the last eight.

Kane, not to be outdone by the South American, scored his fourth goal in three games to seal a victory over Sami Hyypia’s side.

And Lamela, who scored a Rabona-like goal in the Europa League last week, was thrilled to see the north London side passage.

“Happy for the win and advance to quarterfinals #COYS #TOTTENHAM #SPURS” Lamela wrote on Instagram.

Lamela has scored three goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for the north London side.

The Argentine playmaker completed a club-record £30.75m move to Spurs from Roma in 2013.
