Jose Enrique hailed Liverpool’s “well-deserved” League Cup win after the Reds sealed a thrilling 2-1 victory over Swansea at Anfield.

Italy international Mario Balotelli relieved some of the pressure on his shoulders with an 86th-minute equaliser after Marvin Emnes had put the visitors ahead.

Swansea defender Federico Fernandez received a red card in stoppage time before Liverpool centre-half Dejan Lovren headed a dramatic winner in the 94th minute.

And Reds full-back Enrique, who missed the fourth-round tie due to “a little injury”, took to Instagram to praise his team-mates on Wednesday morning.

“Well done!! Great win yesterday and well deserve too,” Enrique wrote.

The Liverpool defender was joined by his girlfriend and fellow Spaniard Suso, who is recovering from a groin operation, for the cup clash at Anfield.

The left-back posted: “Watching the game.”
