The Spaniard wants Liverpool to pick up three points against Hull City
Jose Enrique is desperate for Liverpool to get back to winning ways as the Reds prepare to face Hull City at Anfield on Saturday.
The Spanish left-back wasn’t named in Brendan Rodgers’s matchday squad despite making a rare Premier League start at Queens Park Rangers last week.
However, Enrique’s omission didn’t dampen his spirits as the former Newcastle United defender took to Instagram to wish his team-mates good luck.
“On the way to Anfield, come on team! 3 points today!” Enrique posted.
On Thursday, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insisted the Reds didn’t need a new defence coach despite conceding 19 goals in 12 games.
“There is no chance of us bringing in a defensive coach,” Rodgers said. “We have conceded a large number of soft goals, there’s no argument about that, but I think it is just a lack of coaching time that is hurting us.
“We need to reinforce basic principles at defensive set pieces, but we know that already. We have to get better and we will be working on it.
“When I first came in I was asked whether I would bring someone in to help the strikers score goals. I didn’t, and we got goals anyway.”
