Mohamed Salah has taken to Instagram to post a photo with Kurt Zouma ahead of Chelsea training on Thursday.

The Egypt international made a rare start for the west London side on Tuesday night as the Blues were 2-1 winners against Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup.

And Salah, who joined the Blues from Basel in a £11m deal in the January transfer window, appears to relishing an imminent training session at their Cobham training ground.

“Good morning..” wrote Salah on Instagram.

However, Jose Mourinho wasn’t so cheerful after the subdued performances of Andre Schurrle and Salah in Chelsea’s 2-1 League Cup win.

“I expect players to give me problems,” Mourinho said. “I love problems. But a lot of them didn’t and they’ve made it easy to choose my team for Saturday.

“If players who played 90 minutes two days ago were fantastic I expect people who are not playing a lot to raise the level to create me problems. They didn’t create me big problems.”

Asked if Schurrle and Salah had disappointed him in particular, Mourinho responded: “Yes.”
