Rafael da Silva has hailed Robin van Persie’s “great goal” after Manchester United drew 1-1 with Chelsea.

The Netherlands international scored in stoppage time to cancel out Didier Drogba’s 53rd-minute opener at Old Trafford.

And Rafael, who was partly at fault for the Chelsea striker’s goal, heaped praise on his United team-mate Van Persie.

“@manchesterunited #manchesterunited great atmosphere yesterday great goal,” wrote Rafael on Instagram.

Following the draw, Van Persie declared that Manchester United can still catch Chelsea and win the Premier League title.

“Of course we can. There’s still a long way [to go], it’s still early doors,” Van Persie told Sky Sports.

“There are nine or 10 games played so it’s not even half way through the season, so yes [we can].”
