Roberto Soldado is making the most of the international break, spending time with his family after being omitted from the Spain squad.

The 29-year-old striker has struggled to make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur since his big-money £27.5m move from Valencia in 2013.

Soldado has scored one goal in five appearances in all competitions, netting in a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup.

And Spain international Soldado posted a photo with his wife and kids as the Spurs striker enjoys some down time after a 1-0 win against Southampton.

Soldado posted on Instagram: “Great day in family, but the best is yet to come”

Earlier this week, Soldado was quick to pay tribute to former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa after the right-back made his 200th Real Madrid appearance.

Soldado said: “Congrats to my friend @17arbeloa, career full of success and still lots to come”
