Erik Lamela’s wonder strike was the biggest talking point from Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-1 win against Asteras Tripolis on Thursday.

The Argentina international scored a remarkable ‘rabona’-like strike, wrapping his left foot around his right leg to curl the ball in from 20 yards at White Hart Lane.

And here is the best of the Twitter reaction from the professionals to Lamela’s memorable goal.

APOEL striker Cillian Sheridan (@CillianSheridan): “Disgusting stuff from Lamela. After that Lamela finish, I know how they felt in Semi Pro when Jackie Moon performed that alley-oop”

Former Liverpool forward Michael Owen (@themichaelowen): “My word. That Lamela goal was outrageous!!!”

QPR striker Charlie Austin (@chazaustin9) spots the funny reaction of the Spurs left-back: “Ben Davies reaction”

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone (@Huddz8) sums up the strike: “Went for a p**s came back missed a goal and seen lamela has taken the p**s brilliant goal and confidence to try that”

Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen (@Jan_Vertonghen): “Must be the best goal I’ve ever seen!! @Coco_Lamela congrats to hattrick Kane as well!!! @hkane28”

Tottenham full-back Davies (@Ben_Davies3): “Unbelievable goal @coco_lamela My reaction said it all @hkane28 well done mate #hattrick #coys”

Matt Le Tissier (@mattletiss7) is no stranger to great goals: “Gotta feel for harry kane, everyone will forget about his hat trick cos of lamelas goal”
