Alexis Sanchez: I’ve struggled to adapt at Arsenal
The Chile international says he has been struggling to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League
Alexis Sanchez has admitted that getting used to the rigours of the Premier League with Arsenal has been “anything but easy”.
The Chile international has been the Gunners’ standout performer so far this season following his transfer to Emirates Stadium from Barcelona in the summer.
It’s been a struggle to adapt. Out of all of the leagues I have played in, this is the toughest
The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and made two assists in 10 Premier League games for Arsene Wenger’s men.
But the forward says that he has had a hard time adapting to English football.
“The football played here is really tough – it’s very difficult,” said Sanchez.
“It’s been a struggle to adapt. Out of all of the leagues I have played in, this is the toughest. I’m enjoying the challenge but it’s anything but easy.
“There’s not such a great difference between the teams. The clubs at the bottom of the table can complicate matters for those at the top.
“Every game is decided by some small, minor details and I really love that – it keeps you alert, on your toes.”
