Alexis Sanchez is more important to Arsenal than Eden Hazard is to Chelsea, according to Martin Keown.

The Chile international scored twice in the final 20 minutes at The Emirates on Saturday to help Arsenal seal a 3-0 victory over 20th-placed Burnley.

You could take Hazard out of the Chelsea team and they could still manage. I’m not so sure about Arsenal without Sanchez

Sanchez has scored five goals in his last three Premier League games, taking his tally to seven strikes since a £35m move from Barcelona in the summer.

And former Arsenal centre-half Keown reckons Arsene Wenger’s side would be in big trouble without their talented South American.

“Where would Arsenal be without Alexis Sanchez? Probably halfway down the table. He’s a little man but he’s a big man,” Keown told BBC Sport.

“Every time I watch him play he excites me. He really is a crowd pleaser, and he’s so tenacious. He really goes at people when he gets the chance, and that gets the crowd on their feet. He’s been a revelation for Arsenal.

“I think Sanchez is more important to Arsenal than Eden Hazard is to Chelsea. You could take Hazard out of the Chelsea team and they could still manage. I’m not so sure about Arsenal without Sanchez.”
