Arsenal man vows to help Jack Wilshere come back stronger
Benik Afobe will do all he can to help his 'best friend' Jack Wilshere keep his spirits high after ankle surgery
Benik Afobe has vowed to do all he can to help his “best friend” Jack Wilshere keep his spirits high as the midfielder recovers from ankle surgery.
The 22-year-old was ruled out for around three months after undergoing an operation on his left ankle on Thursday.
I’ll help him by trying to keep his head right
And Afobe, who is on loan to MK Dons from Arsenal, says he will help Wilshere in his recovery.
“I probably see Jack about twice a week,” Afobe told Arsenal.com. “He lives two minutes away from me back home and I’m always there.
“We are best friends so I see him a lot and I always watch every single Arsenal game.
“Jack’s injured at the moment and I’m really disappointed and gutted for him because he’s found form and he’s been playing well for England and Arsenal. I just wish him a speedy recovery.
“That’s what friends are for. It’s not just about when you’re doing well, having dinner or spending time together – you’ve got to talk about the reality, the injuries and how you’re going to come back from them.
“I’ll help him by trying to keep his head right and hopefully he’ll come back a better and stronger player.”
