David Luiz has urged Benfica striker Talisca to reject interest from the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United after scoring nine goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season.

But former Chelsea centre-half Luiz reckons his fellow Brazilian would be best-served learning his trade under Benfica boss Jorge Jesus.

Luiz said: “Talisca is having a great season and deserves the accolades he is getting from around the world.

“I just hope that he can continue playing well because he will be very important for Brazil.

“I saw him playing when he was still at Bahia. He is a player of great quality.

“He had the good fortune to fall into the hands on Jorge Jesus. He’s a coach that improves his players.

“Every year we see Benfica sell three or four players with six or seven others the subject of offers.

“Jorge Jesus empowers and teaches players though. Talisca still has plenty to learn and I’m sure he’ll get better in the future.”
