Arsenal transfers: Lukas Podolski ‘not happy’ at Gunners
Lukas Podolski says he is not happy with his 'current situation' at Arsenal
Lukas Podolski says he is not happy with his current situation at Arsenal.
The Germany international has struggled to hold down a starting place at The Emirates this season following the summer arrivals of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck.
I have to think about will happen this winter and will look to hold talks with the club
Podolski, who moved to the north London side from Cologne in 2012, has made four substitute appearances in the Premier League, as well as playing three Champions League cameo roles.
And the 29-year-old is growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities at Arsenal, hinting at a possible exit in the January transfer window.
“I am not happy with the situation at the moment. It would be wrong to suggest that I am. I still have fun playing football but when the competitive element of it is taken away from me, the one I enjoy so much, then I am not happy,” Podolski is quoted as saying by the Guardian.
“I have to think about will happen this winter and will look to hold talks with the club.”
Podolski’s only start for Arsenal this season came as the Gunners were beaten 2-1 by Southampton in the Capital One Cup third round.
