Morgan Schneiderlin says he wants to play for a big club despite Southampton’s excellent start to the season.

The Saints are second in the Premier League table after eight wins in 11 top-flight outings this season.

Schneiderlin has been a key part of the south-coast club’s success after the Saints blocked a potential move to Spurs this summer.

But the 25-year-old hasn’t given up hope of a move to a “big club” in the near future amid reports Arsenal are interested in the Southampton man.

“A career passes quickly and I want to play for a big club,” Schneiderlin told France Federation Football’s site.

“Today I am at Southampton. We are second in the Premier League, it is going well.

“We’ll see at the end of the season what will happen if we are still in the Champions League places and I will make the choice. I will see with my club.”

Schneiderlin has scored three goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season.
