Alexis Sanchez has revealed that he sometimes fails to appreciate everything that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says – because his English is not good enough yet.

The Chile international has made a flying start to his Gunners career following his £35m transfer to Emirates Stadium from Barcelona over the summer.

I don’t speak enough English to understand and appreciate all of what he says

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and made two assists in 10 Premier League games so far this season.

Sanchez is thoroughly enjoying working with Wenger, but has conceded that he sometimes struggles to understand all of what his manager is saying.

“I like it a lot with him [Wenger], although the truth is I don’t speak enough English to understand and appreciate all of what he says,” Sanchez told AS.

“It’s not a coincidence that he has been at Arsenal so long. The whole world knows him and admires him.”
