Japan’s Kei Nishikori has made history by becoming the first Asian player to qualify for the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals.

Nishikori booked his place at the season showdown in London after beating David Ferrer in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters on Friday.

Milos Raonic also secured his spot at the O2 Arena and is first Canadian player to qualify for the season finale in singles.

The Canadian then overcame Tomas Berdych, who has also qualified for London, in three sets to reach the Paris Masters final, where he will face Novak Djokovic.

Rafael Nadal also qualified but was forced to withdraw as he will undergo appendix surgery next week.
