Chelsea suffer Cesc Fabregas injury blow
The Chelsea midfielder could be out of action for a number of weeks after being sent home from Spain duty
Cesc Fabregas could be out of action for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury after the Chelsea midfielder was forced to withdraw from international duty with Spain.
Jose Mourinho revealed that the 27-year-old had been struggling with the problem after Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Liverpool last weekend.
The playmaker was assessed by Spain’s medical team and was then sent back to London on Tuesday, with initial reports suggesting that he is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
Fabregas has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers since joining Chelsea from Barcelona over the summer.
The midfielder has scored one goal and made nine assists for Mourinho’s men to help the Blues lead the way at the top of the Premier League table.
Chelsea have only dropped four points this term and sit four points clear at the top of the table after 11 games.
