Jose Mourinho has denied that Chelsea are interested in signing Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund.

The Germany international, who has also long been linked with a move to Manchester City, has been touted as a potential target for the west London club in recent weeks.

The speculation surrounding the 25-year-old’s has also been fuelled by the fact that he has a buyout clause in his contract which becomes active in the summer.

However, when asked if Chelsea are keen on Reus on Monday, Mourinho replied: “We are not interested, not at all.”

Reus has been ruled out until the new year after tearing ligaments in his right ankle during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Paderborn.

Reus tweeted: “I’ll be back again! Thanks for all your lovely messages wishing me to get better soon.”
