Schalke’s director of sport Horst Heldt insists that the German club are not interested in signing Andre Schurrle or Lukas Podolski in the January transfer window.

Schurrle’s Chelsea future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks, with the Bundesliga club, as well as Liverpool, touted as possible destinations for the World Cup winner.

Podolski, meanwhile, has also been linked with a winter move away from the Premier League due to his lack of playing time at Arsenal this season.

However, Heldt has denied suggestions that Schalke could be set to make a January move for either of the two players.

“We’re not considering Andre Schurrle at all,” Heldt told Sport-Bild.

“And the same goes for Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski.”

Where will Andre Schurrle be next season?
