David De Gea believes that he is in the best form of his life, despite Manchester United’s stuttering start to the season.

The Spanish goalkeeper was in good form once again but couldn’t prevent Sergio Aguero from netting the winner in Sunday’s Manchester derby at Eithad Stadium.

“My form is very good,” De Gea told United’s website.

“I am playing the best football of my career and I want it to continue, but the most important thing is that we all play well as a team.”

The defeat left United 10th in the Premier League table with just 13 points from their opening 10 games.

“It was a shame we didn’t get anything from the match,” De Gea added. “But we had 10 men for most of the match. We didn’t give up after the red card, we kept going.

“We don’t like to lose – especially in derbies – but we will keep doing what we are doing and try to win the matches coming up.

“We are at home [against Palace on Saturday], so we will train hard all this week and we are going to make sure we get all three points.”

Where will David De Gea be next season?
