DeAndre Yedlin is huge talent, Jurgen Klinsmann tells Tottenham
The USA manager talks up defender DeAndre Yedlin
Jurgen Klinsmann has described DeAndre Yedlin as a “huge talent”.
The USA international has signed a four-year deal with the north London side but will remain at Seattle Sounders until the start of the 2015/16 season.
I think Spurs will get a huge talent
The right-back was one of the stars of USA’s World Cup campaign as Klinsmann’s side reached the knockout stage before an extra-time loss to Belgium.
And the USA manager talked about the qualtities that the 22-year-old will bring to the north London side when the defender joins up with the Spurs squad.
“As you saw really quickly in the World Cup, he is highly talented, has great pace, good character, is a good kid and wants to learn,” said Klinsmann, who manages the United States national side.
“I think Spurs will get a huge talent.”
Earlier this season, Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard backed Yedlin to replicate his performances in Brazil and prove a long-term hit at White Hart Lane.
“I’m super excited for DeAndre,” Howard told ESPN. “He’s a good kid, he’s humble, he’s very respectful and he’s got a bag full of talent.
“He showed that coming into the Belgium game. He had no care in the world who [Eden] Hazard was, he ran him up and down the pitch.
“I think he’ll do really well in the long-run at Tottenham.”
