Divock Origi can be a truly great player for Liverpool, according to Lille defender Simon Kjaer.

The Belgium international is spending the season on loan at the Ligue 1 side after Liverpool agreed a £12m deal with Lille in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old has scored four goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season, whilst the Reds have struggled to score goals.

And his Lille team-mate Kjaer, 25, hailed Origi as one of the greatest talents that he has encountered during his career.

“He could be a truly great player for Liverpool,” Kjaer is quoted as saying by the Mirror. “He has got great potential and could become one of the best players in his position.

“Origi is one of the greatest talents I have ever played with in Italy, Germany or France. I have no doubt about his potential.

“He’s still very young and it was a clever move to let him mature one more season with Lille, but he’s got the complete package – physically, technically and great speed.”
