Federico Fazio believes Tottenham Hotspur can still challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Spurs are in 12th place and 15 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea after a 2-1 defeat by Stoke City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

And Argentina international Fazio is confident that Mauricio Pochettino’s side should be higher in the top-flight table despite their poor form.

“I think at Tottenham we have very good players who can fight for first position in the Premier League and fight for the Champions League and the Europa League,” the Argentine is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

“But we need to improve like a team, to be like a team because I think we have got very good players.

“We need to play like a team on the pitch. I think that we have very good players, good enough to be higher in the Premier League.”

Fazio has made eight appearances in all competitions for Tottenham following his £8m move to the north London club from Europa League winners Sevilla.

Is Federico Fazio speaking sense?
