Manchester United’s sole objective this season is to secure a top-four finish, according to Gary Neville.

The Red Devils moved up to fourth place in the Premier League table thanks to a 2-1 win over Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

And although Neville concedes that the victory was “significant” for Louis van Gaal’s side, he still does not feel that they are capable of challenging Chelsea for the title.

“Winning a game away at Arsenal is not easy,” said Neville, speaking on Sky Sports.

“This season, [getting into] the Champions League places is everything – to allow them to build again for next season.

“Louis van Gaal has talked about how he needs to win the league within the next three years – this season it’s all about getting into the Champions League.

“They’re incapable of winning the league for me this season – they’re not good enough.

“But it felt like a big weekend. Beating Arsenal, Liverpool losing, getting into that fourth spot… it was a significant weekend.”
