Gary Lineker reckons Harry Kane must be p*ssed off after Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino benched the in-form striker for the trip to Villa Park.

The Argentine started Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado against Aston Villa despite Kane scoring eight goals in all competitions this season.

The England Under-21 international is the north London club’s in-form striker, netting six goals in his last six appearances in the Europa League and League Cup.

Pochettino’s controversial selection backfired in the first half as Spurs strikers Adebayor and Soldado missed sitters following Andreas Weimann’s 16th-minute opener.

And former Tottenham forward Lineker joked that Kane must cut a frustrated figure sitting on the bench as his team-mate wasted glorious opportunities for the visitors.

The England legend, who scored 57 top-flight goals during three seasons at Tottenham, added that Kane has all the qualities required to be a regular goal-scorer.
