They tried to pressure us but in the second half we showed a lot of personality and character and we need to keep that in the next few games

England Under-21 international Harry Kane converted from close range after Eriksen’s shot had hit the crossbar with 29 minutes remaining before the Dane netted the winner from 20 yards.

“It was very important this victory because it is important to stay in our position. an important win for the supporters and the club,” said Pochettino after Tottenham climbed up to 10th in the table.

“The second half at the beginning, we showed we were a better team, than the first half. Never easy to play against 10 players but in the end we deserved the victory.

“Hull scored early and it was difficult to manage. They tried to pressure us but in the second half we showed a lot of personality and character and we need to keep that in the next few games.”
