Ray Parlour likens the Arsenal forward to Luis Suarez
Ray Parlour says he didn’t expect Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to be so impressive.
The 25-year-old continued his recent goal-scoring run with two strikes in the north London side’s 3-0 victory over Burnley at The Emirates on Saturday.
He is the nearest I’ve seen to Luis Suarez
Sanchez has scored seven goals and made two assists in nine Premier League appearances after the South American swapped Barcelona for Arsenal in the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Tuesday morning, Arsenal legend Parlour praised the £35m signing’s impact: “What an amazing player. I didn’t expect him to be this good.
“You are always hope a signing that is moves to the Premier League can hit the ground and running like Diego Costa at Chelsea.
“We knew Cesc Fabregas would do it because he has done it before. But Sanchez has come in and really suited the Premier League.
“He is quick, he is hustle-bustle. He has been kicked a few times but has got straight back up and closed down.
“He is the nearest I’ve seen to Luis Suarez. I like to look at players on the ball, turn and twist, set chances up and score goals. But I like to see a player off the ball working hard, too. He has done that.”
