Kyle Walker is thrilled to be back training after the Tottenham Hotspur defender made his return from an abdominal injury.

The England international has been out of action since before the World Cup after picking up an abdominal injury, with his last appearance coming eight months ago.

Everything is good at the moment. I’ll be even happier when I’m back playing but that’s the final step

Walker underwent surgery in September in a bid to finally overcome the problem, and the procedure appears to have been successful after the defender returned to training.

Speaking to Tottenham’s website, the 24-year-old says he can’t wait to make a return to first-team action after a frustrating spell on the sidelines.

“It’s great to be back out there with the lads.

“I’m taking it one step at a time, doing things correctly as I’ve been told and I’ll see where I am in a couple of weeks.

“Everything is good at the moment. I’ll be even happier when I’m back playing but that’s the final step.”

Tottenham are currently 12th in the Premier League after a 2-1 defeat by Stoke City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Have Spurs missed Kyle Walker?
