Kolo Toure has revealed that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers reminds him of his former manager Arsene Wenger.

The Ivory Coast international worked under the Frenchman at the north London club for seven years between 2002 and 2009 before joining Liverpool from Manchester City in 2013.

And the 33-year-old defender says that Rodgers has similar traits to Wenger.

“I do see Wenger in him – because they’re so intelligent,” said Toure.

“Like Arsene, he’s always there at training, trying to improve things. His style of player is also similar. He always wants us to pass the ball and keep playing.

“He also knows how to speak to players and how to get the best out of them. He will prove that, because he will come out of this hard time.”
