There may be a dark cloud hanging over Anfield after another disappointing result, but Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is staying positive.

Former Reds forward John Toshack claimed Brendan Rodgers’s side are still suffering from a hangover after missing out on the Premier League title last season.

Liverpool have only won eight of the 16 games in all competitions this season, leaving the Reds in seventh place in the Premier League and languishing behind Real Madrid and Basel in Champions League Group B.

However, Sturridge, who is on the brink of a return to the first-team following an extended spell on the sidelines, took to Instagram to post the above motivational message.

It read: “Positive mind. Positive vibes. Positive life.”

Sturridge accompanied the photo with his own message, writing: “Real talk.”

Sturridge hasn’t featured for the Reds since a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in August.

The Liverpool striker suffered a thigh injury during training with England in September before then picking up a calf strain last month.

Can Daniel Sturridge improve Liverpool?
