David Thompson believes Barcelona forward Pedro would be a “terrific signing” for Liverpool.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the Spain international in recent weeks as Brendan Rodgers looks to add much-needed goals to his side.

Pedro has found his first-team opportunities limited at Camp Nou following the arrival of Luis Suarez in a £75m deal from Liverpool.

The 27-year-old, who is a World Cup winner, is reported to command a £25m asking price amid reports Arsenal will rival Liverpool for the winger.

And former Reds midfielder Thomspon reckons Pedro would be a great addition to Rodgers’s struggling squad.

Pedro has scored once in nine La Liga appearances, although the forward has only started five games.

The Barca forward has won four La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey twice and two Champions League crowns during a six-year spell in the first-team.
