Roberto Mancini has ruled out a potential swoop to bring Mario Balotelli back to Inter Milan.

The former Manchester City manager embarked on his second reign as Nerazzurri boss earlier this week, prompting reports of a move to sign Balotelli.

The Italy international has played under Mancini at Inter and The Etihad, being part of Mancini’s title-winning Serie A and Premier League sides.

Balotelli has struggled since his £16m move to Liverpool from AC Milan in August, failing to score in the English top-flight in nine games.

However, Inter manager Mancini has moved to quash speculation of a potential move to sign the 24-year-old in January transfer window.

“Mario is happy at Liverpool,” Mancini is quoted as saying by Daily Mirror.

“He has a great chance and was fortunate enough to go back to one of England’s biggest clubs. He ha s to make the most of this opportunity.”
