Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge ‘suffers new injury setback’
The Liverpool striker is reported to have suffered yet another injury setback
Daniel Sturridge has suffered yet another injury setback after pulling up in Liverpool training on Tuesday, according to reports.
The Liverpool striker has not featured since the start of September after initially picking up a thigh injury while on international duty with England and then suffering a calf strain.
Now, the The Times is reporting that the 25-year-old was forced out of training on Tuesday with a similar problem to his original thigh strain.
Liverpool are set to assess the damage in the next 48 hours but Sturridge is now understood to be a serious fitness doubt for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.
The reports come after Sturridge took to Instagram on Monday to reveal that he was approaching full fitness.
He wrote: Can’t wait to be back playing!! Wish I was with England though not gonna lie but my body is ready now and that’s all that matters.”
