Manchester United have confirmed that Louis van Gaal could be without up to 12 players for Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.

The Red Devils’ already-lengthy injury list has grown yet further following the latest round of international fixtures.

Angel di Maria, Luke Shaw and David De Gea are among the players to have picked up problems while on duty with their countries.

A report on United’s website also confirmed that Daley Blind is set to be sidelined for some time after suffering what looked like a serious knee injury in Holland’s 6-0 win over Latvia.

Midfielder Michael Carrick, meanwhile, is also a doubt after leaving the England camp with a groin problem.

Radamel Falcao, who has missed United’s last three games with a calf injury, is “closing in on a return to action”, while Marcos Rojo remains sidelined after dislocating his shoulder.

United boss Van Gaal is due to give a more detailed assessment of his sides injury situation when he faces the media on Friday.
