Angel di Maria has suggested that he regrets not having joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer – by declaring that a move to the French club would have been “great”.

The Argentina international joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in a club-record £59.7m deal after also being heavily linked with a move to PSG.

Di Maria has been one of the Red Devils’ standout performers since his switch to Old Trafford, but the 26-year-old has hinted that he was also keen on a transfer to Paris.

“I have no regrets about leaving the Real Madrid,” Di Maria told Telefoot.

“Paris, it would have been a great experience. It would please a lot of players to play at a French club.”

Di Maria has scored three goals and made five assists for Louis van Gaal’s United side so far this season. He has started nine of their 11 Premier League games.

Does Angel di Maria look happy at Man United?
