Juan Mata has insisted that David De Gea is not concerned about the speculation linking Victor Valdes with a transfer to Manchester United.

Valdes has been training with United as he bids to regain his fitness and has inevitably been touted as a possible transfer target for the Red Devils.

However, Mata says that first-choice shot-stopper De Gea is not worried about the former Barcelona man’s arrival at the club.

“I have spoken with Valdes. He’s training with the team and we’re looking forward to seeing what his plans are soon,” Mata told Spanish radio.

“De Gea is not nervous.”

Manchester United take on Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on 22 November in their next Premier League game.
