Man United’s Juan Mata ‘enjoys watching’ Chelsea forward Eden Hazard
Juan Mata speaks of his admiration for Eden Hazard
Juan Mata says he enjoys watching Eden Hazard despite the pair no longer being Chelsea team-mates.
The Spain international completed a £37.1m move to Manchester United from the west London side in January, ending his nightmare under Jose Mourinho.
But Mata has lost none of his admiration for the Belgium winger, adding that he has a good friendship with the 23-year-old Blues forward.
“We had a very good relationship,” Mata told Cadena Cope. “He is a world class player.”
Hazard has scored five goals in all competitions this season, although he was denied a strike at Old Trafford by a great David De Gea save.
But Mata, who has netted three Premier League strikes this season, isn’t surprised by Hazard’s eye-catching form.
“He is excelling this campaign but since he arrived in London I already saw that he was a very special player,” Mata said.
“We enjoyed [playing together] a lot and I still enjoy watching him playing because he is world class.”
