Marcos Rojo has thanked his supporters after the Manchester United defender surpassed 600,000 followers on Instagram on Monday night.

The Red Devils centre-half was thrust into the spotlight in the summer after he impressed with Argentina at the World Cup.

Rojo completed a £16m move to United from Sporting Lisbon in August, undoubtedly boosting his following on the social media website.

The Argentina international has posted 549 photos and videos, and the 24-year-old celebrated the landmark with a special message.

“Thank you all for this. The truth is that we today are so many amazing and all be supporting me during this difficult time,” Rojo posted.

The United defender was substituted in the second half of the 1-0 loss to Manchester City after he suffered a shoulder injury.

However, Rojo took to Twitter to update United fans on Sunday night, insisting the problem wasn’t serious.

Rojo has made seven Premier League appearances following his £16m move from Sporting Lisbon in the summer transfer window.
